A wee bit about us We would like to give you a very warm welcome to our home, the Clach Ghlas (grey stone) designed built and completed by the owners some three years ago. You have come to a house steeped in history. Although a new build it is built on the ruins of the first white house in the glen. Glendale is an area of Skye which is steeped in local history, not least by the Land Leaguers of the 19th Century, led by the renowned John McPherson, known as the Glendale Martyr. Enjoy a wee connection to the past as you spend a little time in the home of his great grand niece!. The Clach Ghlas is situated on a working croft. Every effort has been made on our part to make your stay with us as comfortable and luxurious as possible. The Clach Ghlas is the place to come to get away from it all and we are happy to leave you to do your own thing and just unwind as you see fit, either in your individual bedroom, lounge or conservatory. If however, you feel you would like a yarn with us, some local craik or just nostalgic reminiscing of days gone by in the Isle of Skye, then please just let us know and we would be happy to spend some time with you. Otherwise, we are happy to respect your privacy and will give you the space to chill out and enjoy the peace and time out away from it all. We would be happy to advise on where to eat out and will make reservations on your behalf. Although we don’t provide evening meals we are happy for you to snack in the evenings in our dining area should you opt for a lazy evening in where you can take advantage of our log fire and perhaps do a spot of star gazing through the telescope provided in our sumptuous lounge. We have detailed information on suitable walks, sea trips and places of interest available for you to browse through. Breakfast time Breakfast is served in our luxurious conservatory at times which fit in with your requirements. We invite you to join us to “breakfast like a King” and to indulge your taste buds in a delightful array of the very best of local produce. Local Information In the bookcase in the conservatory we have a selection of maps, books on walks, both locally, and in North and South Skye, tourist information, pamphlets and leaflets and books of local interest. If we don’t appear to have what you’re looking for, then please let us know and we will seek to assist you, whenever possible. We also have a small selection of DVD’s and CD’s of local musical talent which can be loaned to you during your stay with us. We do hope that you decide to come and stay at the Clach Ghlas and we look forward to spending time with you. "Don't really want to write too much as other people will find out what a fantastic find this is. Heaven sent location. Quality room with loads of lovely extras. Fabulous atmosphere and food.
